Our Process
We are meticulous in determining the products we choose to use on our lawns. A number of factors go into deciding what fertilizer we choose. The “main course” for your lawn is the nitrogen and potassium ratios. But one of the things that set us apart is the secondary and micro-nutrients in our fertilizers that are needed to keep your lawn healthy and growing. Our fertilizer also contains a certain percentage of slow release pellets. These pellets continue to feed your lawn throughout the interval it’s designed to cover. Most fertilizers break down too quickly which gives a surge of growth and then eventually weakening the plants leaving a period of the application interval with no coverage. With our slow-release fertilizer, you’ll have a continual feeding of your lawn.
With our weed control product, we use a liquid broadleaf herbicide. We are proud to put our weed control product up against any other competitors. We always achieve great results with our applications. Whether it’s easy-to-kill weeds such as dandelions or nuisance weeds such as clover or ground ivy, they are no match for us!
6 Application Program
Our six application program consists of four granular fertilizer applications and two liquid weed control applications. With our first fertilizer application, we also apply crabgrass pre-emergence control.
7 Application Program (Our Most Popular Program)
Our seven application program consists of four granular fertilizer applications, two liquid weed control applications, and one granular insecticide application. The granular insecticide is designed to control all turf insects such as grubs, sod webworms, chinch bugs, along with many more. With our first fertilizer application, we also apply crabgrass pre-emergence control.
Fertilizer & Weed Control Schedule
April
The first granular fertilizer and crabgrass pre-emergence has a couple of functions. It’s intended to jumpstart spring growth and help recover from winter. The crabgrass pre-emergence is intended to offer control against crabgrass throughout the growing season.
April/May
(7 Application Program Only)
One granular insecticide application is applied to control a wide variety of insects – most notably white grubs, sod webworms and chinch bugs.
May/June
At this time we apply our first of two weed control applications. This application offers great control against all Broadleaf and nuisance weeds. At this time the most abundant weed is the dandelion.
June
The second of your granular fertilizer applications continues to thicken your lawn and helps prepare your lawn for summer.
August
The third granular fertilizer continues to promote root growth. It also helps restore turf color after what is often a stressful July for our lawns.
August/September
The second liquid broadleaf weed control app is intended to eliminate those weeds that may have germinated over the summer.
October
The fourth and final fertilizer application often referred to as the “winterizer” helps strengthen the root system which is vital to surviving the Winter.
